  • Eamonn Traynor

    DIRECTOR

    Eamonn started his Quantity Surveying in the then named Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics in 1977.

    Eamonn joined a Tier 1 multi-disciplinary practice where he collaborated with various construction professionals working on projects world wide as far as Dubai.

    Eamonn later moved to Mullingar, which turned out to be the home for him and his family every since. He worked with a local quantity surveying practice and completed cost management services on a number of Office of Public Works (OPW), Department of Education and Skills (DoES) and Industrial Development Agency (IDA) projects in the midland’s region.

    Eamonn then established Eamonn Traynor & Company in 1980 and has been practicing his trade in the Prospect office ever since.

    In the early days Eamonn hired a local quantity surveyor, Michael Daly, who is still employed to this day as a very reputable senior quantity surveyor. Michael assists in delivering the quality Clients have become familiar with and has also helped in the development of junior staff in the years gone by.

    During the early to mid 80s of ET&CO, Eamonn worked on a number of local construction projects including major structural upgrades to St. Finian’s College Mullingar and full renovations to the local Cathedral of Christ the King Mullingar Co Westmeath.

    As the company grew so did the type of projects the company were involved in. In the early 90s Eamonn offered full cost management services to Hodson Bay Group who completed Phase 1 of Hodson Bay Hotel upgrade which included a large extension to the existing listed period house. Phase 2 was completed in 1994 which added additional bedrooms. Eamonn also engaged with full cost management services to the construction of the Galway Bay Hotel Co Galway for the same Client.

    Eamonn has maintained professional relationships with Clients such as Hodson Bay Group for whom he provided cost management services on several other projects as recent as 2021.

    Eamonn continued his work with public works completing a number of projects for the IDA such as the Midlands Portlaoise Business & Technology Park.

    Eamonn entered the 2000s providing quantity surveying services to the retail and residential developments such as Manor Mills Maynooth Co Kildare. He also continued in the hospitality sector completing a number of hotel projects for the Cassidy Group. Including the Belvedere Hotel and the Cassidy Hotel in Dublin City.

    The industry picked up and so did the work load. Eamonn provided full cost management services to the development of Athlone Town Centre and Sheraton hotel for Gallico Developments Ltd in Athlone Co Westmeath. This included a state-of-the-art hotel and spa, residential apartments and shopping outlet.

    As the decade was coming to an end Eamonn continued working on local projects completing multiple projects for the Institute of Technology Athlone Co Westmeath. Eamonn managed the costs for the complete renovations to the School of Engineering and completed the A.I.T International Athletics Arena. The track is used to regularly host national and international athletics championships.

    Recently Eamonn has been rendering quantity surveying services for numerous Public Works projects. Some of these include St. Christopher NS Co Longford and St. Etchen’s NS Kinnegad Co Westmeath.

    Eamonn has provided consultancy services for multiple BMW garages for Colm Quinn BMW including garages in Athlone, Galway and Drogheda.

    Eamonn most recently provided cost management services for another Hodson Bay Group development in the construction of the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Dublin City Centre.

    As the above only mentions a fraction of the portfolio of Eamonn Traynor & Company, he can look forward to handing over the scale ruler and calculator to his son Peter who aims to continue applying his own professional experience and build a livelihood for himself thanks to the reputation his father has established over the past four decades.

  • Peter Traynor

    DIRECTOR

    Peter completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying graduating with a Honours degree in 2012.

    Peter started his career as a graduate with ET&CO in 2012 and worked on number of projects in the midlands region before moving abroad to Canada in 2013.

    In Canada, Peter worked for one of North Amercia’s largest Contractors working on large scale construction projects including International Airport upgrades, Hospitals, Residential, Industrial and Commercial projects up to the value of $1billion CND.

    When he returned to Ireland in 2016, Peter worked for a Tier 1 Contractor in Dublin City Centre. Peter worked as a Project Quantity Surveyor on site for projects such as Trinity College Dublin Business School and St. Patricks Dublin City University.

    In 2017 Peter joined one of the industry’s leaders in professional construction consultancy. Peter joined an experienced Professional Quantity Surveying department in Dublin with a large work load at a busy time in the industry. Here he delivered cost management services on large commercial projects in Dublin City Centre. Some of these projects include Dublin Landings NTMA and Fitzwilliam ESB.

    While working in Dublin Peter became a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland in 2018.

    Most recently, in 2020, Peter completed a Post Graduate Level 9 Diploma in Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveying.

    Peter has since returned to his roots and has brought his own wealth of knowledge and experience from over 10 years of practicing quantity surveying. Peter takes great pride in continuing the well-respected reputation his father has established over the past 4 decades while also developing his own livelihood and achieving his own professional goals.
